A New Name for a Stronger Community Connection
The Cardinia Foundation is now the Cardinia Community Foundation, a subtle but significant
change that better reflects who we are and our deep connection to the people we serve. This
evolution in our identity stems from our commitment to the Cardinia region and its residents.
While our core mission remains unchanged, our new name better captures the essence of
what we do and who we are, a community-driven organisation focused on local impact and
inclusive support.
The Cardinia Community Foundation does not just work for the community, we are part of it.
Our volunteer board of directors, drawn from local businesses, community leaders, and
council, are your neighbours and fellow community members who understand the unique
needs and aspirations of our region. The Foundation is a truly independent local community
organisation focused on place-based giving, owned and led by the local community. We are
completely autonomous from council, guided instead by local leadership and community
input, ensuring that our initiatives truly reflect local priorities and needs.
Our major goal is to create significant and lasting change for the community by growing a
sizable local fund to support local charities and not for profits now and into the future. This
fund serves as a perpetual resource, ensuring that the kindness and generosity of today
continue to benefit our community for generations to come.
In line with this goal, the Cardinia Community Foundation has recently announced the
introduction of Named Funds. This allows individuals, families, and businesses to establish
perpetual funds in their own name, their family name, their business name, or in memory of
a loved one. These Named Funds ensure that the local community benefits from this
kindness both now and well into the future.
Over the years, many organisations have benefited from the support of the Cardinia
Community Foundation. Groups such as ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency),
Frankie’s Kitchen, Bless Collective and numerous other local charities and not for profits
have received vital funding that has enabled them to continue their invaluable work within
our community. These organisations provide essential services, support vulnerable
populations, and foster a spirit of care and collaboration that strengthens the fabric of our
region.
The importance of locals helping locals cannot be overstated. Our Foundation thrives on the
principle that when we come together as a community, we can achieve extraordinary things.
The Cardinia Community Foundation is here to facilitate local engagement, support
community initiatives, and create opportunities for collective action that benefits all residents.
While our name has changed, our commitment to Cardinia remains stronger than ever. We
will continue to collaborate with our community members, local businesses, and partners to
create positive, lasting change in our region.
We invite you to embrace this change with us as we continue our journey of building a
stronger, more connected Cardinia – together.
